3rd Illumination Science & Technology Conference: "Lighting Industry Development" Sub-forum Concludes Successfully
The "Lighting Industry Development" sub-forum of the 3rd Illumination Science and Technology Conference was held in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province on November 8, 2025. With the theme of "New Era, New Lighting, New Leap", the event was hosted by the China Illuminating Engineering Society (CIES) and brought together industry experts and corporate representatives.
The technical presentations focused on cutting-edge innovations. Experts shared insights on the development trends of CSP (Chip Scale Packaging) technology and the GHz high-bandwidth micro-LED communication and sensing system. Notably, micro-LED technology is expanding beyond displays into new areas like short-range interconnection in data centers, thanks to its low power consumption and high bandwidth. Jiangxi Jinhuangguang showcased its multi-primary color LED powder-free lighting technology, which eliminates the need for rare earth phosphors, offering an environmentally friendly solution that aligns with global green and low-carbon initiatives.
Practical applications were also highlighted. Xu Weigang, CTO of LEDVANCE, and Professor Yu Li'ang from Shanghai University of Engineering Science shared case studies on the Jinji Lake Runway lighting project and the lighting design for the Osaka World Expo, respectively.

The forum also featured a panel discussion, where industry leaders debated topics such as technological innovation and industrial chain collaboration. The event concluded with a strategic cooperation signing ceremony between LEDVANCE, Zhejiang Ouruijie, and Jiangxi Jinhuangguang. The three parties will integrate their technological strengths, production capacities, and market resources to jointly drive the upgrading of the lighting industry and the wider adoption of green lighting solutions.
